Dazinski seized command in the final furlong on Monday at Great Yarmouth and held off Captainrisk by a neck in a seven-furlong maiden race to become the first career winner for international multiple Group and Grade 1 winner Sulamani (Ire).
After a runner-up finish in his career debut for trainer Mark Tomkins and owner Beryl Lockey, Dazinski closed from off the pace to prevail in 1:26.70 on good to firm turf. Bred in Great Britain by Darley, Dazinski is out of the Nashwan mare Shuheb.
A nine-year-old by Hernando (Fr) out of the winning Alleged mare Soul Dream, Sulamani stands for $12,702 (8,000 euros) at Haras du Logis in Normandy, France. A half brother to 1998 European Horse of the Year Dream Well (Fr), Sulamani has 54 two-year-olds in his first crop.
Sulamani won nine of 17 career starts and earned $5,252,368. He won the Prix du Jockey Club (Fr-G1) (French Derby) as a three-year-old in 2002 and secured victories in the Arlington Million Stakes (G1) (by disqualification), Turf Classic Invitational Stakes (G1), and Dubai Sheema Classic (UAE-G1) as a four-year-old. In 2004, he won the Juddmonte International Stakes (Eng-G1) and closed his career with a victory in the Pattison Canadian International Stakes (Can-G1).
