Bold Reward first winner for freshman sire Haasil
Haasil (Ire) sired his first winner on Thursday when Bold Reward posted a four-length win in a maiden claiming race at the Solano County Fair.
Two-year-old Bold Reward, who is out of the winning Scherando mare Scher Bold, won the 5 1/2-furlong race in 1:04.86 on a fast track. Trainer William Morey owns the colt in a partnership with the Joseph P. Morey Revocable Trust.
Haasil, a ten-year-old by Machiavellian out of the winning Danzig mare Mahasin, stands for $1,000 at Rivendell Ranch in Fresno, California. He has five two-year-olds in his first crop.
Debuting in England for Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum before being shipped to North America in 2003, Haasil recorded four wins in 21 starts and amassed $55,021 in lifetime earnings. He is a half brother to Grade 2 winner and sire Elhayq and multiple Group 3 winner Shibl.
