Wink At Richie seized command near midstretch and earned a half-length win in her second career start on Friday at Arlington Park to become the first career winner for freshman sire Gimmeawink.

Trained by Larry Rivelli for owner Richard Ravin, Wink At Richie completed the five-furlong maiden claiming race in :59.32 on the synthetic Polytrack surface.

Grade 3-placed multiple stakes winner Gimmeawink, a half brother to multiple Grade 1 winner Showing Up, stands for $5,000 at Hidden Point Farm in Ocala. An eight-year-old by Elusive Quality out of Miss Alethia, by T. V. Commercial, Gimmeawink has 60 two-year-olds in his first crop.

Gimmeawink concluded his racing career in 2004 with nine wins in 23 starts and $531,090 in earnings for trainer Tim Ritchey and owner Walter Wienkowitz. The dark bay or brown horse earned each of his six stakes wins as a three-year-old in 2003. Gimmeawink also finished second that year in the Pennsylvania Derby (G3) at Philadelphia Park.
