Jove Stone relocates to Clairmont Farm

Four-time stakes winner Jove Stone will stand the 2008 season at Clairmont Farm in Stony Mountain, Manitoba, Canada, for about $747 ($750 Canadian).

The 14-year-old Northern Jove horse, out of the winning Graustark mare Gemstone, stood the previous season at Circle 4g’s Thoroughbred Farm in Sunset, Louisiana. Jove Stone is owned by Matthew and Leanna Givs.

A half brother to stakes winners Clever Gem and Magical Gem, Jove Stone is the sire of two winners from five starters in three crops of racing age. Through Sunday, his progeny have earned $121,588.

Campaigned by Marathon Farms, Jove Stone won the 1998 Housebuster Handicap, Endless Surprise and Fire Plug Stakes, and the ’99 Mr. Nickerson Handicap, in which he set a track record for six furlongs at Philadelphia Park in 1:08.06.

Jove Stone won ten times from 32 career starts and earned $306, 412 in five seasons.
