Miss Wild Rockete first winner for Wild Rocket

Miss Wild Rockete drove clear on the turn in her racing debut and earned a 5 1/4-length win in the sixth race on Friday at the Downs at Albuquerque to become the first career winner for freshman sire Wild Rocket.

Trained by Jimmy Collier for owner Jess Ford, Miss Wild Rockete won the five-furlong maiden special weight race for New Mexico-breds in :59.37 on a track rated as fast. The dark bay or brown filly is the first winner from two starters out of the winning Buckaroo mare Miss Buckareena.

Ten-year-old Wild Rocket, a full brother to 2002 Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Sarava, stood for $1,500 in '08 at AAA Ranch in Tonopah, Arizona. Miss Wild Rockete is the only two-year-old in Wild Rocket’s first crop.

Bred in Kentucky by Marty and Pam Wygod, Wild Rocket concluded his six-year racing career in 2005 with two wins in 34 starts and $61,659 in earnings. He is out of the unraced Deputy Minister mare Rhythm of Life.
