Storm of Goshen sires first winner
Arden Floyd’s and Suzanne Reed’s Magnificent Storm wore down three challengers late and drove to a three-quarter-length victory on Friday in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden claiming race at Ruidoso Downs to become the first winner for freshman sire Storm of Goshen.
The seven-year-old unraced Storm Cat stallion out of the Lord at War (Arg) mare Star of Goshen, stands for $1,500 at Callaway Farm in Hobbs, New Mexico. He has 11 foals of racing age, including three starters, from his first crop.
Trained by Roy Marcom Jr., Magnificent Storm won in his fourth career start, all at Ruidoso Downs. He covered the distance in 1:07.40.
