Bewild Hennessy powered to a 2 1/4-length win in the $217,552 Copper Top Thoroughbred Futurity on April 19 at Sunland Park to become the first career winner for freshman sire Roll Hennessy Roll.
Trained by Todd Fincher for owner Charles Hunter, Bewild Hennessy is out of the winning Wild Gold mare Betsy Bewild, a half sister to multiple stakes winner Rising Express. Bewild Hennessy was bred in New Mexico by Michael Weatherly.
Roll Hennessy Roll, an eight-year-old by Hennessy out of multiple stakes winner Roll Over Baby, by Rollin On Over, stands for $2,500 at A&A Ranch in Anthony New Mexico. A half brother to multiple Grade 1-placed stakes winner Value Plus, Grade 3-placed multiple stakes winner Majorbigtimesheet, and multiple stakes winner Sing Baby Sing, Roll Hennessy Roll has 13 two-year-olds in his first crop.
