Stronach Stables has retired multiple Grade 1-winning mares Spun Sugar and Amorama (Fr).

Breeding plans have not been finalized, Stronach Racing Manager Mike Rogers said on Thursday.

Spun Sugar, a homebred by Awesome Again, won the 2005 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (G2) in her three-year-old season and placed in the Mother Goose (G1), Coaching Club American Oaks (G1), and Alabama Stakes (G1).

As a four-year-old, Spun Sugar scored a neck victory over Happy Ticket in the Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) and a nose win over Balletto (UAE) in the Go for Wand Handicap (G1). She won six of 13 career starts and earned $929,171.

Amorama earned narrow wins at Del Mar in the 2004 Del Mar Oaks (G1) and the ’05 John C. Mabee Handicap (G1) for previous owners Marsha Naify and Woodside Farms.

Frank Stronach bought Amorama for $1.05-million in the 2005 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall mixed sale and sent her to Racing Hall of Fame trainer Bobby Frankel, for whom she won the My Charmer Handicap (G3) on December 2 at Calder Race Course in her final start.

Bred by Jean Etienne Dubois, Amorama won five of 28 career starts and earned $794,353.
