Artie Schiller, winner of the 2005 NetJets Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) will shuttle to Independent Stallions Station, Nagambie, in the Australian state of Victoria, commencing with the 2007 Southern Hemisphere breeding season.

Michael Becker, of Independent Stallions, announced that a multi-year shuttle agreement was reached with Artie Schiller’s syndicate owners, including Ben P. Walden Jr.

Artie Schiller, by El Prado (Ire), stands at Walden's Hurricane Hall in Lexington for $15,000.

He will stand in Victoria at a fee of $17,310 ($22,000 Australian).

“Artie ticks all the boxes,” Becker said. “He is a fantastic looking individual, has a fantastic pedigree, and was a fantastic racehorse that proved to be the best grass miler in the world.

“When you toss in that he possessed a huge turn of foot, won sprinting in his first start at one of America's premier tracks, and is an outcross to Danehill, I can't think of a better stallion suited for Australia."

Artie Schiller won ten of 22 career starts, including victories in the 2004 Jamaica (G2) and National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame (G2) Handicaps and the ‘05 Maker’s Mark Mile Stakes (G2) and Bernard Baruch Handicap (G2).

Artie Schiller is out of multiple Grade 1 winner Hidden Light, by Majestic Light. In 1986, Hidden Light posted victories in the Santa Anita (G1), Hollywood (G1) and Del Mar (G2) Oaks.
