A full brother to Barbaro was born early Friday morning at Mill Ridge Farm in Lexington.

Roy and Gretchen Jackson’s 11-year-old Carson City mare La Ville Rouge foaled a Dynaformer colt at 2:08 a.m. Mary Miller of Mill Ridge said the foaling of the full brother to the 2006 Kentucky Derby (G1) presented by Yum! Brands winner was routine and both the mare and colt are doing well.

La Ville Rouge also has produced Holy Ground, by Saint Ballado, a five-year-old stakes winner who now stands in Florida; Man in Havana, an unraced three-year-old Quiet American colt; and another Barbaro full brother in Nicanor, a Dynaformer yearling.

Miller said the Jacksons plan to breed La Ville Rouge back to Dynaformer. The Jacksons hope to eventually breed a full sister to Barbaro.
