Multiple Grade 1 winner Pico Central (Brz) has arrived at the Korean Racing Association’s Jeju Stud Farm after a private transaction with Satish and Anne Sanan’s Padua Stables.

The Sanans sold the eight-year-old Spend a Buck horse out of Sheila Purple (Brz), by Purple Mountain, after deciding to move their operation from Florida to Kentucky. Bloodstock agent Rollin Baugh brokered the deal with the Korean Racing Association.

Pico Central stood two seasons at Padua after a racing career in which he earned Horse of the Year honors in Brazil and an Eclipse Award nomination as champion sprinter of 2004. He covered 75 mares in 2006 at Padua in Summerfield, Florida, resulting in 45 foals.

A two-time Group 1 winner in Brazil, Pico Central scored four graded stakes wins for owner Gary Tanaka and trainer Paulo Lobo in 2004. He won the San Carlos (G2), Carter (G1), and Metropolitan (G1) Handicaps in consecutive starts and registered a four-length victory in the Vosburgh Stakes (G1).

Bred by Haras Fronteira P.A.P., Pico Central won nine of 17 career starts and earned $1,283,145.
