Group 3 winner Sabre d’Argent to Bridlewood Farm
Sabre d’Argent, winner of the 2003 Petros Rose of Lancaster Stakes (Eng-G3), will stand in 2008 at Bridlewood Farm in Ocala for $5,000.
The seven-year-old Kris S. horse out of Grade 3 winner Sterling Pound, by Seeking the Gold, stood his initial season in 2007 at Double Diamond Farm in Ocala.
"We are very excited about the addition of Sabre d'Argent to our stallion roster," said George Isaacs, general manager of Bridlewood. "With the proven success of his half brother, Exchange Rate, and the huge influence that the legendary Kris S. had on the breed internationally, we feel he offers a tremendous opportunity to Florida breeders."
Campaigned by Darley Stable, Sabre d’Argent won five of ten career starts and earned $158,607. Prior to his win in the Rose of Lancaster at Haydock Park, he won the Haven and British Holidays Fairway Stakes at Newmarket. After not racing as a four-year-old in 2004 and making one start as a five-year-old, Sabre d’Argent was sent to the United States and trainer Tom Albertrani. He subsequently finished third in the 2006 Fort Marcy Handicap (G3) at Aqueduct.
