Judge T C sold to stand in Saudi Arabia

Posted: Wednesday, March 08, 2006

A partnership between WinStar Farm, Taylor Made Farm, and McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds has sold stallion [isd]Judge T C[/isd] to Prince Sultan Mohammed Saud al Kabeer for stud duty in Saudi Arabia.

A 15-year-old son of Judge Smells out of the Secretariat mare I'm Pretty, Judge T C stood three years at McMahon of Saratoga for $8,500. The multiple graded stakes winner began his stud career in 1997 at Upson Downs Farm in Goshen, Kentucky. His second crop was by far his strongest as it included Canadian champion Lady Shari, Grade 1 winner Request for Parole, and two-time Grade 3 winner The Judge Sez Who.

He moved to Airdrie Stud in Midway, Kentucky, in 2000 and stood for $20,000 before dropping to $5,000 in '01 and to $2,500 in '02 at Regal Heir Farms in Pennsylvania before McMahon, Taylor Made, and WinStar acquired him to stand in New York for the '03 season.

Judge T C has sired 176 winners, including 15 stakes winners, from 240 starters that have earned $13,603,613 through Tuesday.

Al Kabeer owns North American-based Total Impact (Chi), winner of the 2004 Hollywood Gold Cup (G1). Laura de Seroux trains Total Impact, and her husband, Emmanuel, brokered the Judge T C sale through his Narvick International.—Ed DeRosa
