Weekend Cruise to Florida's Ups and Downs

Posted: Friday, November 30, 2001

Weekend Cruise, a half brother to multiple graded stakes winner Signal Tap, has been retired and will enter stud in 2002 at Ups and Downs Farm near Citra, Florida. The four-year-old son of A.P. Indy out of the Northern Dancer mare South Sea Dancer will stand his initial season for $2,000.

Bred in Kentucky by William S. Farish, W. S. Kilroy, and the E. J. Hudson Jr. Irrevocable Trust, Weekend Cruise was winless in four career starts and earned $5,310.

In addition to Signal Tap, winner of the Hialeah Turf Cup Handicap (G3) and Bougainvillea Handicap (G3), South Sea Dancer has produced six other winners. South Sea Dancer is a full sister to leading Central Kentucky sire and champion Storm Bird and Canadian champion Northernette, and a half sister to stakes winners Ocean's Answer and Let's Go South.

Offered at the 1998 Keeneland September yearling sale, Weekend Cruise was bought back on a bid of $95,000.
