Freshman sire Gone For Real gets first winner

Grade 3 winner and New York-based freshman sire Gone For Real was represented by his first winner from his first starter on Sunday when two-year-old colt Grayson won a 6 ½-furlong contest at Charles Town Races for owner John Jones Jr.
Out of the Valdez mare Fun Lovin Lizzie, West Virginia-bred Grayson covered the distance on a fast track in 1:23.94 to beat Perfect Speed by three lengths.
A ten-year-old son of Gone West, Gone For Real won the 1995 Royal Palm Handicap (G3) at Hialeah Park and retired after his five-year-old campaign with five wins in 16 career starts with earnings of $173,230.
Bred in Kentucky by Foxfield and Mill Ridge Farm, Gone For Real is out of the Drone mare Intently.
Gone For Real, who is represented this year by six two-year-olds and six yearlings, stands for $2,500 at Dutchess Views Farm near Pine Plains, New York.
