Freshman sires Glyer, Tri Line gain first winners

Central Kentucky freshman sire Glyer and New York-based stakes winner Tri Line were represented by their first winners recently.

Glyer, a 12-year-old son of Seattle Dancer out of Tea and Roses, by Fleet Nasrullah, gained his first winner when Carmie Sucher's Thehoneymoonsover won a $19,700 maiden special weight race at Mountaineer Park on November 2. The two-year-old gray filly out of O Danny Girl, by Runaway Groom, won the 5 ½-furlong event by 7 ½ lengths in 1:06.76.

A winner of three of 11 career starts who earned $45,557, Glyer stands for $1,000 at Echo Valley Stable near Georgetown, Kentucky. Thehoneymoonsover is the lone foal in Glyer's first crop.

Tri Line's first winner came on November 3 when Gilda Sayles' Miggy Mouse won a $10,000 maiden special weight race at Finger Lakes Race Track in her second career start. A two-year-old bay filly out of Sadie's Jet, by Jet Diplomacy, Miggy Mouse won the six-furlong event by five lengths in 1:13.05.

Tri Line, an eight-year-old son of Crafty Prospector out of Great Birdie, by Proud Birdie, stands for $1,500 at Breezy Knob Farm near Ava, New York. He has four foals in his first crop and two starters to date.

Winner of the 1995 Aspirant Stakes and '96 Ontario County Stakes at Finger Lakes, Tri Line won six of 23 career starts and earned $151,622.
