Commitisize returns to track after starting stud career

While some horses spend time at a farm before returning to action, not many spend their off time the way Commitisize did.

After winning ten of 31 career starts, including the 1999 El Rincon Handicap (G2) at Santa Anita Park, and banking $783,687, Commitisize earned a new career as a stallion at Wycombe House Stud near Reddick, Florida. The six-year-old son of Explodent adjusted well to his new life, but still maintained his even temperament, so his handlers decided to return him to the track at the end of the breeding season.

"He's without a doubt the neatest horse I've ever been around," owner Mike Pegram told Daily Racing Form. "Heck, I could put my grandson on his back."

Commitisize made his comeback on November 22 after more than a year on the sidelines with a third-place effort in an allowance race at Churchill Downs. He is currently in training at Fair Grounds with trainer Steve Asmussen.
