Grade 1 winner City Zip, who was retired after a ninth-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) at Belmont Park, will stand his initial season for $7,500 at Gus Schoenborn Jr.'s Contemporary Stallions near Coxsackie, New York. The three-year-old son of Carson City out of Baby Zip, by Relaunch, was retired to Contemporary after winning nine of 23 career starts with five seconds and four thirds for $818,225 in earnings. He won eight stakes events during his career, including a sweep of Saratoga Race Course's three major juvenile stakes in 2000.
