First winners for Slice of Reality, Classified Facts
New York-based freshman sire Slice of Reality and Illinois-based freshman Classified Facts were each represented by their first winners on Sunday.
Slice of Reality got his first winner when Ifeelmisty won a $10,000 maiden special weight event at Finger Lakes in her seventh career start. The two-year-old filly out of Misty Embrace, by Embrace the Wind, won the 5 ½-furlong event by 5 ¾ lengths in 1:08.23.
Slice of Reality, a nine-year-old son of Proper Reality out of Cushion Cut, by Raise a Man, stands for $1,200 at Foggy Bottom Farm near Geneseo, New York. Third in the 1995 Withers Stakes (G3), Slice of Reality won six of 27 career starts with nine seconds and four thirds for $211,281 in earnings.
Classified Facts got his first winner when Be Factual captured a $26,000 maiden special weight race in her second start at Hawthorne Race Course. The two-year-old filly out of the Greenough mare Biddy won the six-furlong race by 1 ¼ lengths in 1:12.76.
Classified Facts, an eight-year-old son of Seattle Slew out of Bald Facts, by In Reality, stands privately at Hondo Ranch near Maple Park, Illinois. A half brother to stakes winners General Royal and Fortunate Facts, Classified Facts won two of 15 career starts for $33,085 in earnings.
