Exclusive Zone, Daufuskie Pirate earn first winners

Stakes-placed winner and Texas-based freshman sire Exclusive Zone and Indiana-based freshman Daufuskie Pirate were each represented by their first winners on Thursday.

Exclusive Zone gained his initial winner when T M Gray Ghost won a $7,845 maiden claiming race in his career debut at Remington Park. The two-year-old colt out of Miss Pebbles, by Rockwall, won the six-furlong race by 3 ½ lengths in 1:13.10 for owner Terry Morales.

Exclusive Zone, an 11-year-old Kentucky-bred son of Waquoit out of the Exclusive Native mare Native Zone, stands for $1,000 at Lambert Farm near Batson, Texas. Winner of five of 31 career starts and $124,118, Exclusive Zone has two foals in his first crop.

Daufuskie Pirate earned his first winner when Drop of Rain made a winning debut in a $22,000 maiden special weight race at Hoosier Park. The two-year-old filly out of Premier Fleur, by Premiership, won the 5 ½-furlong event by 2 ¼ lengths in 1:07.91 for Cher-Wen Stables.

Daufuskie Pirate, an eight-year-old California-bred son of Marshua's Dancer out of the Pirate's Bounty mare Pirate's Coquette, stands for $1,000 at Brandywine Stables near Greenfield, Indiana. He has two foals in his first crop.
