Smolderin Heart to stand in Arkansas
Multiple stakes winner Smolderin Heart, who finished fifth in the F. W. Gaudin Memorial Handicap on Sunday at the Fair Grounds, will enter stud in 2002 at Hot Springs Racing and Breeders Corp. at Grayrock Farm near Bonnerdale, Arkansas.
The six-year-old son of Two Punch out of Sconneltown Road, by Ack Ack, will stand his initial season for $2,000.
Smolderin Heart won eight of 35 career starts with ten seconds and five thirds for $467,686 in earnings. His victories included the 1998 Lone Star Derby and 2000 King Cotton Stakes at Oaklawn Park for owners Mark Rand and Jean Brennan and trainer Terry Brennan.—Tom Law
