First winners for Seattle Proud, Left Banker
Freshman sires Seattle Proud and Left Banker recently earned their first winners. Seattle Proud, a half brother to six stakes winners, gained his first winner when John Toffan's and Trudy McCaffery's Kedington won a $43,000 maiden special weight race on December 7 at Hollywood Park. Making his third start, the two-year-old dark bay colt out of Helen's Hope, by Smokester, won the 1 1/16-mile event by 3 ½ lengths in 1:42.79.
Seattle Proud, an eight-year-old Kentucky-bred son of Seattle Slew, stands privately at Cardiff Stud Farm near Creston, California, and has four foals in his first crop. He is out of the Proudest Roman mare Confirm, who has produced Grade 2 winners Hollycombe and Autumn Glitter, Grade 3 winner Confirmed Dancer, and stakes winners Ron Bon, Saratoga Sizzle, and Yolanda.
Left Banker earned his first winner when Eutrophia Farm's Son Et Lumiere won a $10,600 maiden special weight event on Sunday at Beulah Park in her fourth career start. The two-year-old filly out of Maser, by Majestic Light, won the six-furlong race by 3 ¼ lengths in 1:13.49.
An eight-year-old son of Afleet out of Du Marche, by *Montparnasse II, Left Banker stands for $1,000 at Eutrophia Farms near Chesterland, Ohio. A half brother to Grade 1 winner Firm Stance and stakes winner Au Bon Marche, Left Banker won three of ten career starts with four seconds and one third and earned $94,755.
