Trainer Todd Pletcher said Florida Derby Presented by BlackBerry (G1) winner and Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1) runner-up Quality Road probably will start in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) on November 7 during the Oak Tree meeting at Santa Anita Park.
The three-year-old bay Elusive Quality colt has placed in all six of his starts this season, winning three races for owner-breeder Edward P. Evans.
If he is not entered in the Classic, he most likely would be entered in the $1-million Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1).
“I'll discuss it further with his owner, Mr. Evans, but the Classic is the most likely scenario," Pletcher said.
Pletcher also said that Evans’ Grade 3 winner Nite Light, the runner-up in the Brooklyn Handicap (G2) on June 5 at Belmont, would be entered in the Breeders’ Cup Marathon.
