Contender Status

Doremifasollatido made her stakes debut on August 13 at Saratoga Race Course, finishing second to Mani Bhavan in the Adirondack Stakes (G2) before rebounding for her first stakes victory in the September 13 Matron Stakes (G2) at belmont Park.

"In her last race, she got into contending position while she was losing ground and got tired late," trainer Jimmy Jerkens said. "But she hung on game for second. That was a big effort."

For the Matron Jerkens told jockey Eibar Coa that he hoped she would break good so they could track the leaders and the plan worked perfectly.

"She was up close without any effort," Jerkens said. "Her rhythm got broken a little bit at the top of the stretch, but she showed a lot of grit. Eibar makes them do that."
