Contender Status

Lahudood (GB) was a stakes winner as well as Group 2 and Group 3-placed in France prior to coming to the United States.

Since her arrival she has shown a particular fondness for the firm turf at Belmont Park, first finishing a neck second and then a 3 1/4-length winner in allowance company.

Sent to Arlington Park for the Beverly D. Stakes (G1) she finished a non-threatening seventh before being returned to Belmont for the Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes (G1) on September 29.

Her win in the Flower Bowl was a particularly satisfying victory for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin.

"This was the first time everything went perfect," McLaughlin said. "She wants to be covered up and make a run on firm ground. Rick Nichols [Shadwell manager] told me that the boss didn't send her over here to be an allowance horse."

Lahudood is not nominated to the Breeders' Cup and would need a $180,000 supplementary fee to enter the Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1).

Current indications are that the filly will be supplemented.
