Trainer Angel Penna Jr. had planned to run Remarkable News (Ven) in the August 5 Fourstardave Handicap (G2) at Saratoga Race Course, but missed the race due to a bout of colic. He made it back for the Woodbine Mile Stakes presented by Bell (Can-G1), finishing fourth, just 2 3/4-lengths back of an impressive performance by Shakespeare.
Penna prefers to run Remarkable News "around every five weeks," and the Woodbine Mile gives him six weeks to prepare for his goal of running in the NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) on October 27.
Remarkable News is not nominated to the Breeders' Cup and will need a 15% supplementary fee to enter. Owner Holly Rincon has indicated she is willing to supplement Remarkable News.
